Almost 1 yr later!!

WOW....I can't believe it's been almost a year. We are actually 17 days out from Jadyn being 1 year old. We were going through all the process of trying to get the birthmom to decide on us, all the families being picked then us. It was just God working. His timing was perfect!! She is wonderful! We are still dealing with some stomach/medical issues with her but they're getting better. She's such a joy and blessing. She's starting to walk, talk and eat better. She's still a shrimp but growing slowing-that's all that matters. Here's some recent photos, actually some of the ones we used for her bday invites.

She's WONDERFUL, ADORABLE and we are soo blessed!!

Life's been CRZY

So, obviously I've not posted in a while and a lot has happened. To start with, a major event is/was my grandma died in September. It's been hard!! We knew it was coming but still. It's for the best, and she's where she wants to be and not hurting so that's the main thing.

Second, we've moved~next door! We're TRYING to buy my grandma's house. We currently live in it and have for 2 1/2 mths but have yet to be able to get a loan on it. We're going to try to wait until our house sells to try again with a loan. It's all in God's time!! The kids did well with the move and LOVE the new house. This is the only house Jadyn will ever remember. That's ok though. We all LOVE the space (even though it's more than what we really need) and the most important fact-that it is/was grandma and grandpa's house.

Skyler is now 5! Time has flown!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a swim party here for him and he had a ball. It was so nice to have all the family here. We've started homeschooling. He's done really well for the most part. Because of grandma we hadn't/haven't schooled as much as we should or I would have like but it's ok. He's still doing alright-we're getting there. I love the group, however he's struggling some with it. It's new people and new place and it's scary for him. He can walk up to any kid (any age) or any adult and play/talk with them but go to group and it's another story. Hopefully he will get there. I don't worry to much about interaction and socialization with him b/c of the teenagers/youth group. He LOVES hanging with the big kids. In a sense he's more mature than some of the kids there at the group b/c of that reason (being with adults and older kids all the time). Skyler loves his sister (especially aggravating her-although it goes both ways) and loves to help (sometimes to much also). He's totally awesome though!

Jadyn is now 8 months old. Wow, where did time go? It doesn't seem like it's been that long ago that we got her. She's crawling around (her little crawl/scoot thing), she's cruising and trying her best to stand on her own and walk. It won't be long I know. She's saying and has been since about 4 1/2 to 5 months Mama, Dada and tries to say Bubba. She's eating some regular food (homemade baby food that is). She's extremely handsy and into EVERYTHING. She is a mama's girl but also a daddy's girl for sure. She loves her aunts and uncles and especially her mi-ma and papa. She's a talker (very loud) and is and angel with an attitude- to say the least. =) She's wonderful though.

Chris is doing well. Staying busy with work and with trying to finish getting the other house ready to sell and the projects that are left here at the new house. Although that has all stalled due to him cutting his fingers with the table saw. A board kicked back and almost cut it off. It's healing well but can't really do anything yet for another month so that stalled everything!! We're very fortunate and blessed to still have fingers though.

I'm enjoying being a mommy and wife everyday. Although I get frustrated and aggrivated with Skyler sometimes, it's still awesome and wonderful! I love homeschooling him also. It's so fun to watch him learn new stuff and get it. Besides having him here with me and sister. I stay busy with everything going on but I LOVE my life!!

I will update more soon I hope. But that's been our life in a nutshell lately.

So it's been awhile...

So here's a quick update. I didn't realize I hadn't posted anything since APRIL-wow!

Jadyn is now 5 1/2 mths old and weighing 13lbs. She's sleeping relatively good. Still waking every 2-3 hrs but I think once we start cereal I think we will sleep a bit longer and more. She's getting more hair and getting quite the personality. She is outgoing and loves to be in the middle of everything. She has quite the attitude and is impatient!! ;) She's also VERY loving and laid back at times also though (although few and far between).

Skyler will be 5 in 3 months. I can't believe it. Where did time go? He's still 100% in love with his sister. He has quite the temper and attitude at times and is VERY stubborn and independent at times also! Basically just ALL BOY!! He's getting excited for "school" also. We're homeschooling and getting geared up to start all of that. We're also getting started with a homeschool social co-op/support group. It's in Owasso so it's not real local but that's ok. Living here in Nowata you're not going to have anything anymore local than that. ;)

Long rough month

So it's been a long rough month...she's not really sleeping and we've been on several different formulas which none seem to work. We are now on a $50 a can formula (by suggestion of a friend of mine) and it seems to be doing the best but we're still not doing great!! She's SOOO gassy and in pain. We have a milk and soy allergy and we either seem to RUN EVERY WHERE or STOP UP!! It's a pain for us and for her. She's just MISERABLE!! We've even been at my moms the past week b/c she's not sleeping and hurting so bad. We are going to be trying to get an apt with a gastro dr. soon to see what exactly is going on. I guess all in all- everything seems to be going pretty well.

Got confirmation from the worker yesterday that dad's right are now officially terminated so she is officially placed with us and our daughter. We will finalize in Sept! We are sooo excited. We knew it would go like this but it's just nice to hear it and for it to be official!! =)

Some Pics of our new addition

Skyler absolutely LOVES his baby sister!! He can't seem to get enough of her. We're still working on some boundary issues with the two of them but I love to see the interaction between them. He's already annoying her and apparently vise versa when she's crying real loud and he's trying to watch a movie or a tv show. It's so cute. LOL

She's here

So, 1 week ago we brought our baby girl home!! It's been awhile since I updated but on Tuesday Feb 23, 2010 at 10:24 p.m. from time mom arrived at hospital water broke and Jadyn was born was all of 20 mins. She was 5lbs 11oz and 17" long. Head full of black hair. She was born with marijuana in her system but otherwise was in great health.

We met that following Monday we met mom. She informed us of a family outside of the agency she was considering. After lots of talking from the worker and several agonizing days we met again on Friday with the baby and she confirmed us as the match and we so we set up for placement on Monday the 8th. That was the best and longest weekend EVER!! =)

On Monday the 8th I went to the office of the agency to help out the worker with the baby. We spent all afternoon and all evening there. We signed papers that night and met the mom at a pizza place again and we did placement. We didn't arrive home that night until about 10:30p.m. what a long and emotional day. But it was great!!

Between all that time Jadyn developed a sever milk allergy and was having issues with that so they placed her on some hypoallergenic formula that she wouldn't eat and therefore sleep. It was really bad...We got her and then immediately got her in with our Pedi on Wednesday and he placed her on soy. After lots of agonizing time with worry and sleepless nights we're finally getting somewhere with her. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19" at that visit.

We're working everything out and getting adjusted pretty well. Skyler is IN LOVE with her and is all over her. Having to set MAJOR boundaries with him but otherwise has done really well. I forgot what it was like having two children; how crazy and demanding they are and how you have less time for yourself (and stuff that really needs to be done). But it's so worth it!! Also as she grows and gets out of this preemie stage it will get a bit easier also!

Mom's rights have been relinquished and dad's will be on April 23rd. Seems a long way off but God's not brought us this far to leave us hangin and to take the baby. All is and will be well!! Will keep updating as I have time. I seem to have FAR LESS time than I did before. Imagine that. LOL
